Dr. Aakanksha Gaur is a distinguished academician and dedicated researcher, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Acharya Narendra Dev Nagar Nigam Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kanpur. She has over eight years of teaching and research experience in the field of Political Science. Dr. Gaur earned her postgraduate and doctoral degrees from the University of Allahabad. Her research primarily focuses on public participation in rural development and the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in this process. Her work clearly reflects how democratic decentralization can pave the way for inclusive, participatory, and sustainable rural transformation. Numerous research papers by Dr. Gaur have been published in reputed national and international journals. Her areas of research include Panchayati Raj and democratic empowerment, rural development and public policy, women's empowerment, and political participation. She has had the privilege of presenting research papers at prestigious academic forums in India, such as the Indian Political Science Association (IPSA), the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and at national and international seminars organized by central and state universities.Dr. Gaur is not only actively engaged in her own research work but also plays an important role in mentoring future researchers. At present, several Ph.D. scholars are conducting research under her guidance.She firmly believes that “participatory governance” is the soul of democracy, and she strives to spread this ideology to the masses through her writing, teaching, and dialogue.
